Broadway star and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti has the Twitterverse belting out after she issued a call for students to share videos of their school musical rehearsals. 鈥淚f you were meant to perform鈥� in your school musical and it was canceled, 鈥減ost yourself singing,鈥� Benanti declared via a Twitter video last week, after schools across the country shuttered due to a worsening coronavirus pandemic. As a consequence, school theaters lost their spring shows and audiences.
As thousands of performers have recorded themselves, the avalanche of tweets and videos have emerged as a notable bright spot amid all the dark headlines.
