Former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis capitalized on an endorsement from President Trump to narrowly defeat Tallahassee鈥檚 insurgent Democratic Mayor Andrew Gillum, who conceded Tuesday night with just a point separating the candidates and 99 percent of precincts counted.
DeSantis trailed other Republican contenders in the state primary until a June tweet by the president saying DeSantis would make a 鈥済reat governor鈥� vaulted him into the lead.
